
Cespedes Strikes Out 12 in 12-2 Win Over Penn State

The Terps had an excellent all-around Friday night as they evened the weekend series.
Cespedes was dominant on the mound in his third start of the season. He fanned a career-high 12 hitters — including seven straight from the third to fifth innings — during his six-inning outing while limiting PSU to two runs on four hits. His 12 strikeouts were the most by a Terp since Jason Savacool collected 13 in 2022.
David Mendez sparked Maryland's four-run second inning with his second home run of the weekend. His 11th blast of the season tied the game before Brayden Martin plated two with a two-out single.A dozen strikeouts for Big Cris today! 🍩
