Tim Ahner was hired as an equipment manager at the University of Maryland in August 2003. He's in his 21st year working with the department.

Ahner is the primary contact for the men’s and women’s soccer teams, as well as the men’s lacrosse and tennis teams. Ahner also assists with the equipment for the baseball, cross country, indoor and outdoor women’s track and field, and outdoor men's track and field programs.

A native of Trotwood, Ohio, Ahner graduated in 1997 from Wright State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Prior to Maryland, he had stints at the University of Dayton (1997-2000) and Northwestern University (2000-03), where he worked with the Olympic Sports.
