Maryland's Kroeger Shares ACC Player of the Week Honors
COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Senior setter, and 1997 All-America candidate, Eden Kroeger was named ACC co-Player of the Week after leading the Terps to a perfect 3-0 record last weekend. Kroeger shares the honor with N.C. State's Nicole Peterson.
Kroeger enjoyed an equally impressive week as the Terrapins captured the 1997 Ramada New Carollton Invitational title, defeating Kansas State (3-1), South Carolina (3-1) and George Mason (3-0). The Englewood, Colo. native registered a .350 hitting percentage and averaged 12 assists per game for the weekend. She finished with 15 kills, 40 digs and five service aces. Kroeger was also named MVP of the tournament.
Kroeger is 61 assists shy of breaking the Maryland all-time assist record. The current record is 4,277.
Maryland opens Atlantic Coast Conference action this weekend when it travels to North Carolina and N.C. State for Friday and Saturday matches, respectively.
The Terps own an 8-0 record and are off to their best start in school history.
