Maryland's Bittles Named to All-ACC Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland freshman Lorraine Bittles was named to the All-Athlantic Coast Conference women's tennis team for 1997. Bittles hails from Nashville, Tenn.

Bittles currently holds a record of 9-10, however three of her losses came to opponents ranked in the Top 25 and two came to opponents ranked in the Top 10. She finishes her ACC season with a 4-4 record. Playing at the No. 1 spot for the Terps, she consistently played against top-notch opponents.

Bittles becomes Maryland's second freshman in as many years to be named to the All-ACC team. Sophomore Thea Ivanisevic represented the Terps in 1997.
