Maryland's Shipman Named First Team Mid-Atlantic Region

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland sophomore pitcher Kelly Shipman was named First Team Mid-Atlantic Region as announced today by the NCAA. Shipman is now in consideration for the national All-America team.

Shipman finished the season with a 19-9 record and a 0.95 ERA. She recorded 254 strikeouts in 207.2 innings pitched. She is currently ranked ninth in the nation in ERA, and seventh in strikeouts per seven innings with an 8.6 average.

The Terps concluded their season at the ECAC Championships where they finished with a 1-2 record.
