1998 Maryland Women's Track Outlook

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The women's team also has high expectation for the 1997-98 season. ACC Champion Heather Atkinson looks to defend her titles in the hammer and 20lb weight. Jocelyn Butler is coming off a great freshman year and looking to get off to a quick start in the 400m. Nikki Webster and Stacy Minott, contributors to last season's 4x100m All-East team are returning with hopes of breaking last year's record-breaking performances. Candyce DeLoatch, Tesheya Hoist, and Butler should also be factors in the outdoor competition.

The Terps are also looking forward to what newcomers, such as Yolanda Brown (transfer from LSU) might be able to do. Fabulous freshmen Lisa DeGrechie and Kelly Crowley led the cross country team and should also be a factor in the distance events.
