Maryland Gymnasts Open Season Friday at Home Against Towson State

COLLEGE PARK, Md - Bob Nelligan begins his 18th year at the helm of the University of Maryland Women's Gymnastics team as they open the 1998 season against the Towson University Tigers on Friday, January 9 at 5:00 p.m.

There is much optimism surrounding the Terrapin Gymnastics Team for the 1998 season as they return 14 gymnasts, including seniors Stacy Breidenbach (Hillsdale, NJ), Megyn Byrnes (Mahopac, NY) and Jenny Wright (Smiths, Bermuda). Sophomores Rachel Dolbin (Pottsville, PA), last year's EAGL Outstanding Rookie Gymnast, and Shelly Hernandez (Silver Spring, MD) are representative of the core of young talent that the Terrapins posses.

With no major losses from last year's team, the Terrapins will look to use the combination of experience, youth, and depth in becoming a national competitor.
