COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Junior midfielder Jen Pratt (Greene, N.Y.) leads all NCAA Division I field hockey players in assists, with 15, through the first three weeks of the season, according to the national statistics released today. Pratt has helped Maryland to an 8-0 start and a third-place national ranking by tallying at least one point in every game the Terps have played this season. In addition to her assist total, she has scored two goals and is fourth on the Terps in scoring with 19 points (a goal is worth two points). Several other Terps are ranked high in the national statistics. Senior Lynsey McVicker (Balleymoney, Northern Ireland) is ranked third in assists (12) and tied for sixth in total points (28). Freshman forward Carla Tagliente (Cortland, N.Y.) is tied for fourth in goals (12) and sixth in total points (28). Freshman back Marloes Platzek (Delft, The Netherlands) is tied for tenth in goals (10) and senior goalie Alana Eliwatt (East Brunswick, N.J.) is ranked fifth in goals against average (0.553). The national statistics are updated every two weeks and will next be released October 7.
