Terps 2-0 at Home; to Face Towson Wed.

LAST WEEK: The Terps won their first two home contests of the season. On Saturday, they defeated Ball State 5-1 and on Sunday, they beat Northwestern 2-0.

TERP OPPONENTS THIS WEEK: The Terps play their third consecutive home game on Wednesday against Towson State at 7:30 pm. The Tigers enter their game against Maryland with a record of 1-1 following a 4-1 loss to Villinova. On Friday, Maryland will travel to Boston College at a 7:30 pm game and on Sunday, they will wrap up their week with a noon contest against Boston University.

SCORING STREAKS Three Terps have at least one point in all three games this season. Senior forward Lynsey McVicker has five goals and two assists so far and leads the team with twelve points. Junior midfielder Jen Pratt had an assist against Bucknell, scored a goal against Ball State and had an assist against Northwestern. Freshman back Marloes Platzek had an assist in each of the first two games and a scored goal against Northwestern.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS By scoring two goals against Ball State, senior forward Lynsey McVicker now has 39 goals during her career at Maryland. By scoring one more goal, she will become only the fourth player in Maryland field hockey history to score at least 40 goals during her career.

PLENTY OF NOTHING Senior goalie Alana Eliwatt has played 140 minutes this season and has yet to allow a goal. She has stopped all five shots she has faced in three games. The 2-0 shutout against Northwestern on Sunday marked the 16th time during her career at Maryland that she has recorded a solo shutout.
