COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland has announced gameday initiatives for the upcoming 2015 Big Ten home opener against Michigan at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium on Saturday at noon EDT.

Game Move to Noon
The Big Ten Conference, University of Maryland and University of Michigan have announced on Thursday that the Maryland-Michigan football game has been rescheduled for noon on Saturday, Oct. 3 due to the impending weather impact of Hurricane Joaquin. The game, which was originally scheduled for an 8 p.m. kickoff, will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

BTN Pregame Show Postponed Due to Hurricane Joaquin
Due to impending inclement weather from Hurricane Joaquin, BTN has postponed the planned broadcast of its football studio shows surrounding Saturday’s University of Maryland football game against No. 22 Michigan.
Big Ten Network will look to stage a broadcast in College Park at a future Maryland Athletics event.
Blackout Byrd
To celebrate the Terps’ 2015 Big Ten home opener against Michigan, Maryland will “blackout” Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. All fans are encouraged to wear black attire to the game.
The first 5,000 University of Maryland students in attendance at the game will receive a complimentary glow-in-the-dark “blackout” t-shirt.
Honorary Captains
Darryl Wright and Danny Oquendo will be honored during the game for their playing careers with the football program at the University of Maryland.
Terp Town
The official pregame event of Maryland Football, Terp Town will be open from 9 – 11:30 am. Terp Town is located at the forefront of all game day excitement on Field House Drive just south of Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.
Terp Town features great food, a beer garden, live entertainment, appearances by the Maryland Cheerleaders, Dance Team, and Mighty Sound of Maryland and activities for kids, including face painting and inflatable games.
The Maryland football team will arrive on campus 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to game time (approximately 9:45 a.m.) and walk through Terp Town to the stadium. Don't miss the opportunity to greet the team with the band and cheerleaders. Join us on West Field House Drive just south of Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium and be a part of this renewed Terp tradition!
The festivities begin four hours prior to kickoff and conclude 30 minutes before kickoff.
Family Weekend
Family weekend is scheduled to be held from 3:30 – 5:30 pm in Cole Field House following the game.
Reminders
- Umbrellas are not permitted inside of Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium and no storage of this item is available.
- Fans are asked to break down tailgate tents prior to leaving their tailgate in the event of strong winds and dangerous conditions. In addition, flag poles may be asked to be removed from vehicles and tailgate areas if these same conditions apply.
- The game will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network, and fans can also listen to the broadcast on the Maryland Sports Radio Network (101.9 WILF-FM Baltimore, ESPN 980 AM Washington DC). The game is also available on satellite radio: Sirius (113), XM (200) and SiriusXM (200).
