Wurst Tosses Complete-Game Shutout In 6-0 Win Over Howard

Zayda Rocke smacked a grand slam in the Terps’ Wednesday win.
COLLEGE PARK, MD — Zayda Rocke's first-inning grand slam put Maryland ahead of Howard and the Terps cruised to a 6-0 win on Wednesday night. Aubrey Wurst spun a gem as Maryland moved to 15-26 this season and 11-0 all-time against the Bison
Rocke's grand slam put Maryland ahead 4-0 before an out was recorded in the bottom of the first inning. Her blast marked her first-career grand slam, her ninth homer of her freshman season, and put the Terps in the driver's seat of Wednesday's clash.
Maryland's lead extended with a Matti Benson RBI double in the second inning and Anna McGowan's solo homer in the third. Both Bailey Murphy and Caitlyn Cornwell logged multi-hit games in the win.
How it Happened:
Rocke's grand slam put Maryland ahead 4-0 before an out was recorded in the bottom of the first inning. Her blast marked her first-career grand slam, her ninth homer of her freshman season, and put the Terps in the driver's seat of Wednesday's clash.
