Sammi Woods plated the go-ahead run in Saturday’s pitchers’ duel.
Caitlin Olensky made her ninth start of the season in the circle for the Terps. She kept Rutgers off the board until the fifth inning, and limited the Scarlet Knights to three hits across her 4.0 innings of work.⬇️6️⃣ Sacrifice fly gives the Terps the lead

Maryland struck early in the first on a Mariah Penta RBI single that plated Woods — who reached on her team-leading 31st hit of the season. Maryland tallied five hits across the first three innings while Olensky kept the Scarlet Knights' bats at bay.⬆️1️⃣ Caitlin starting off the day with a strikeout!👊

Olensky turned the pitching duties over to Aubrey Wurst after Rutgers got on the board with a solo homer in the fifth inning, and the sophomore escaped a bases-loaded jam to keep the game tied at 1-1.⬇️1️⃣ Mariah gets the Terps on the board🤩

Wurst stranded a pair of runners at second and third with a pair of strikeouts in the sixth, and she closed out the seventh to earn her first win of the season. Wurst collected a season-high five strikeouts across her three innings of work to drop Rutgers to 10-10 on the season.
