Yep Paces Terps At ACC Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The University of Maryland women's cross country team competed at the ACC Championships in Blacksburg, Va., on Saturday and finished 11th vs. a very competitive field, including three teams ranked among the top teams in the NCAA rankings.
Junior Becky Yep remained a strong competitor for the team, crossing the line as the first individual scorer. Yep finished in 45th-place overall with a time of 21:57.
Senior Anna Roth, continued to demonstrate consistency and reliability as she finished closely behind Yep in a time of 22:20.
Sophomore Myah Hicks remained a top-three competitor for the Terps with her place finish and race effort. She finished the course in a time of 22:45. Freshman Jackie Lazzaro has continuously stepped up and demonstrated her will to compete with her efforts this season. Lazzaro set a new personal record for the 6k distance (22:47), crossing the line right behind Hicks.
Junior Bridget Nolan completed the scoring for the Terps, coming in fifth for the team in a time of 22.56.
No. 1 Florida State collected the team title with 35 points. No. 11 Duke took second with 67 points, while No. 26 Boston College finished third with
Senior Catherine Sheffo (23:15), junior Maryam Fikri (23:43) and freshman Katie Nappi (24:00) finished in a tight grouping, while freshman Christy Goldmann (24:41) and sophomore Michelle Hess (24:49) rounded out Maryland's competitors.
Maryland's next competition will be the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet in State College, Pa., on Friday, Nov. 9.
