BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - Shelby Reyes was named the CWPA Western Division Player of the Week, as well as the top defender, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Reyes led the 14th-ranked Terps (20-7) to a second-place finish at last weekend's CWPA Eastern Championship, their best-ever showing in the tournament.

The senior had 12 saves in Friday's 7-5 win over Hartwick and added 11 stops, including one on a penalty shot in the closing seconds, in Saturday's 9-8 semifinal victory over No. 10 Michigan.

Reyes had nine saves in Sunday's heart-breaking 6-5 loss to Princeton in the CWPA Eastern final. The Tigers' victory earned them an automatic bid to the NCAAs.

Reyes now has four weekly honors on the season, having been a two-time pick (Feb. 28 and March 27) for the division's defensive player of the week.

She was a second team All-CWPA Western Division choice.

    Terp Notes:

Terps Make a Move in the Poll: On the strength of their second-place finish in the CWPA Eastern Championship, the Terps improved from No. 14 to No. 12 in this week's women's varsity national poll.
