No. 10 Terps Head to California

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Three days after reaching their highest spot in the national poll, the Maryland Terrapins will begin a stretch of five games on their annual spring break trip in the state of California.
On Wednesday, Maryland moved from No. 11 to 10th in the women's varsity national poll, the highest spot in school history.
The Terps (10-3, 4-0 CWPA Western Division) will put that ranking on the line when they face Fresno Pacific (4-15) at 9 a.m. PDT Saturday at UC-Davis' Schaal Aquatics Center.
Maryland should have a formidable test later in the day when its faces No. 15 UC Davis (8-11).
The Aggies have won their last three games by a combined score of 37-6, including an 11-3 victory over UC San Diego, a team the Terps knocked off during the season-opening weekend.
The Terps and Aggies will square off at 1 p.m., the second of three games (UC Davis faces Fresno Pacific at 2:30 p.m.).
Maryland has won its last five games, with four of those coming against divisional foes. The Terps are also 5-3 against top-20 competition this season.
Allison Campbell continues to lead Maryland in scoring with 40 points (25 goals, 15 assists). The junior also has a team-best 34 steals.
On the strength of 13 goals over the last four games, sophomore Katie Ermakova has taken over the team lead in that category (27).
Freshman Zoe Respondek is first in assists (24) and second in points (32).
Maryland will play at Sonoma State (5-12) on Thursday (3 p.m.) before closing out the trip with a pair of games at Pacific.
The Terps will take on the Tigers (9-5) at noon on Saturday, March 24 and then close the trip out the next day (10:30 a.m.) with a game against Santa Clara.
