Jade Brown Earns All-American Honorable Mention

Dec. 17, 2007

  • AVCA All-American Teams

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Maryland senior outside hitter Jade Brown (Atlanta, Ga.) was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-American last week, capping off an impressive season in which she was named an All-ACC and AVCA All-East Region selection, as well.

Brown, who finished her Maryland career third on the school's all-time kills list and seventh in blocks, is the fifth player in five years to earn All-American recognition in program history and the first since middle blockers Stephanie Smith and Rachel Wagener garnered honorable mention in 2005. Aimee Huddleston and Lynnsy Jones were honorable mention All-Americans in 2003.

Brown registered 358 kills and 127 blocks in 2007, earning her a spot on the Atlantic Coast Conference's second team for the third straight season.
