No. 23 Terps Defeat Kansas St. in Round 1

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The No. 23-ranked Maryland volleyball team improved to 6-0 after defeating Kansas State in four games, 15-7, 7-15, 15-0, 15-5, in afternoon action at the Ramada New Carrollton Invitational in College Park.

Senior middle hitter Conya Jabari-Kitwala hit a team-high .444 and had 11 digs, and senior right side hitter Elizabeth Efron recorded a team-high 15 kills to give the Terps a .310 hitting percentage on the afternoon. Senior setter Eden Kroeger tossed up 41 assists, while junior Kim Adolphs had 12 digs to lead the Terps on defense. At the net, junior Jaime Summers posted five blocks.

In the first game of the Invitational, South Carolina handed George Mason a 3-0 defeat.

Maryland faces South Carolina at 7 p.m. tonight, and faces George Mason tomorrow at 5 p.m.
