Maryland Opens Season With 3-0 Win Over Kent

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Senior All-America candidate and right-side hitter Elizabeth Efron hit .455 while junior outside hitter Kim Adolphs hit a career high .400 to lead the Maryland volleyball team to an opening 15-10, 15-4, 15-8 win over Kent at the Gazette Times Classic at Oregon State University.

The Terps hit .285 as a team and limited the Golden Flash to a .153 hitting percentage. Defensively for the Terps, senior setter Eden Kroeger posted 14 digs with Adolphs adding 10. Kroeger also totalled 33 assists.

The Terps next meet host Oregon State at 7p.m. (PDT) on Friday. Saturday's action includes a 10 a.m. (PDT) matchup with Drake, and a 2p.m. (PDT) contest with 14th-ranked Ohio State.
