Women's Volleyball Defeats North Carolina

COLLEGE PARK, MD- The 15th-ranked Maryland Terrapins topped off a perfect 25-win season with a 10-15, 15-9, 15-8, 15-7 victory over the North Carolina Tarheels during senior night at Ritchie Coliseum.

Led by senior All-America candidate Elizabeth Efronıs 14 kills and 3 serving aces, the Terps hit .388 in the final game to clinch the teamıs 35th consecutive ACC victory. The Terps have not lost in conference play since October 21, 1995 and are the only undefeated team in Division I. They are only the 8th team in NCAA history to reach such a feat and the first ever in the ACC.

Other strong performances came from senior All-America candidate Eden Kroeger, who notched 42 assists and senior Conya Jabari-Kitwala who had a team-high 19 digs.

North Carolina was led by sophomore Tori Seibert, who had 14 kills and 4 assisted blocks. Junior Erin Berg had 30 assists and was one of three Tarheels to hit. 500, along with Seibert and freshman Brooke Ruschiensky.

The Terps finish the regular season 25-0 overall, 16-0 in the ACC. The Tarheels fall to 15-15 overall, 6-10 in the ACC.

Maryland will travel to N.C. State on Thursday for the ACC Tournament.
