Hansbrough Signs to Play with Maryland Women's Tennis

May 7, 2008

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland women's tennis coach Martin Novak announced Wednesday that Jordan Hansbrough has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Terps beginning in 2008-09.

A native of Kennesaw, Ga., Hansbrough was a standout throughout her prep days. In 2005, Hansbrough was a member of the No. 1-ranked doubles team in the state of Georgia.

She was also selected to the all-county tennis teams three times (2005-06, 2008) in her career at Kennesaw Mountain High School.

In addition, Hansbrough was named to the 2007 All-Northwest Team by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"I am very excited to welcome Jordan to our team," Novak said. "She is a happy, energetic and confident young woman. Her desire to succeed both on the court and in the classroom makes her a wonderful representative for what college tennis is all about. Jordan will be a great addition to our Terps."
