Adrienne Pavelko Reaches Semi-Finals

Several Advance to Second Round at ACC Indoor Championships

Junior Adrienne Pavelko (Vienna, VA) advanced to the semifinals of the 1998 ACC Indoor Championships in Raleigh, NC on January 23-25. Pavelko lost a heart-breaker in the semifinal round to Paige Boiko of the University of Virginia, 6-4, 7-5.

Sophomore Stacy Walkowitz (Coral Springs, FL) lost in the first round to Natalie Carratala of Florida State, 7-6 (3), 6-2. Junior Thea Ivanisevic (Claro, Switzerland) lost in the second round to Brooke Seibel of Duke. Freshman Chrissie Terrill (Plano, TX) also lost in the second round, losing to Bobbi Guthrie of Georgia Tech, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.

Two Terrapin Doubles teams also competed. The duo of Stacy Walkowitz and Chrissie Terrill lost in the second round, while Thea Ivanisevic and Adrienne Pavelko dropped their first round match.
