Terps Lose to No. 21 Clemson, 6-1
April 12, 2008 CLEMSON, S.C. - The Maryland women's tennis team fell to No. 21 Clemson, 6-1, Saturday afternoon in Clemson, S.C. in one of the Terps' (3-16, 0-10) final two ACC matches of the season. Freshman Oksana Krutiyenko of the Terps battled back to win her No. 5 match over Clemson's Alexandra Luc. After losing the first set, 1-6, Krutiyenko won the second, 6-2, then won the tiebreaker, 12-10. The Terrapins' Michal Amir, ranked No. 121 nationally, fell to No. 109 Estefania Balda of Clemson (11-9, 7-3), 6-2, 6-1. Clemson first won the three doubles matches to clinch the first point, then won five of the six singles matches. The Terps will close out their regular season schedule Sunday at noon with a match at No. 2 Georgia Tech. # 21 Clemson 6, Maryland 1 Singles
