Women's Tennis Falls to Notre Dame

RICHMOND, Va. --- The University of Notre Dame women's tennis team, ranked No. 16 in the country, improved its record to 13-7 on the season on Sunday with an 8-1 win over Maryland. The Terrapins drop to 8-6 on the season.

Notre Dame freshman Michelle Dasso improved her record to 35-4 on the season in singles and to 19-0 in dual match play with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Lorraine Bittles. Junior Jennifer Hall was a 6-3, 7-5 winner over Meg Griffin and also won at No. 1 doubles. In addition to Hall, Dasso, Marisa Velasco, Tiffany Gates, Kelly Zalinksi and Kelley Olson were all winners in both singles and doubles for the Irish.

Doubles Gates and Hall (N) def. Giffin and Bittles, 8-2; Dasso and Velasco (N) def. Walkowitz and Terrill, 8-6; Olson and Zalinski (N) def. Ivanisevic and Pauelko, 8-2.
