Terrapins Fall to No. 29 Wake Forest, 6-1
March 22, 2008 COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's tennis team fell to No. 29 Wake Forest, 6-1, Saturday afternoon in an Atlantic Coast Conference match held at the Tennis Center at College Park. Sophomore Lisa Miller won her second-straight singles match, with her 6-2, 4-3, def. win over Emilee Malvehy at the No. 5 slot to put the Terps (3-10, 0-4) on the board. After losing the first to doubles matches to the Demon Deacons (7-5, 3-0), sophomore Maggie MacKeever and freshman Oksana Krutiyenko claimed the No. 3 doubles match for the Terrapins, 8-1, over Alexandra Hirsch and Aileen Davis. Junior captain Michal Amir, ranked No. 101 nationally, pushed her No. 1 match against Hirsch to a tiebreaker, 7-6, 0-6 (10-8). Krutiyenko dropped a close match to Ana Jerman, 6-3, 7-5, at the No. 6 singles position. The Terrapins will play host to No. 45 North Carolina State Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The match will take place at the Tennis Center at College Park. Wake Forest 6, Maryland 1 Singles
