Maryland Women's Tennis Climbs Eight Spots in Rankings

Terps now 42nd in latest poll, up from 50th in the nation

The University of Maryland Women's Tennis team climbed eight spots and is now ranked 42nd in the latest national poll released December 9, 1997.

The Terps jumped from their previous ranking of 50th, capturing 215 overall votes. The University of Florida remained the No. 1 team with 525 overall votes.

The Terrapins open up their season January 23-25 at the ACC Indoor Championshps in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
