Maryland Swimmers Prep for Olympic Trials
June 22, 2012 COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Six current and former student-athletes from the University of Maryland will compete in the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials next week in Omaha, Neb. Megan Lafferty (50 free, 100 free, 100 fly), Annie Fittin (50 free, 100 free, 100 fly), Addison Koelle (100 fly, 200 fly), Ginny Glover (100 back), Alexa Hamilton, (200 breast), and John Hauser (50 free, 100 free, 200 free) will compete against the nation's best June 25-July 2 at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha. The results will provide up to 26 men and 26 women the opportunity to represent the U.S. at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Each of the top two swimmers in each every event and four more in the 100m and 200m will punch their tickets to the games later this summer. All but the fastest heats of preliminaries will be webcast live June 25-July 1 beginning at 10 a.m. CT. The fastest 2-4 heats of preliminaries will be broadcast on tape delay by NBC Sports.
