As a Sophomore (2011-12): Took 14th in the 1-meter (470.90), fourth in the platform (458.90) and 27th in the 3-meter (234.75) at NCAA Diving Zones...top Terp performer in the platform with 217.95 (11 dives) and 217.57 (six dives)...also second on the team in the 1-meter (256.65) and 3-meter (315.20)....fourth in the 1-meter dive (253.50) and second in the 3-meter (289.50) at the Terrapin Cup.
As a Freshman (2010-11): Tallied top mark for Maryland in the 1-meter (six dives), platform (11 dives) and 3-meter (11 dives)...took 12th in the 3-meter (279.05) and finished 27th in the 1-meter (200.05) at the ACC Championships...also 10th in the platform (225.90) at the championships...second in the 1-meter dive at the Terp Cup (250.20).
Before Maryland: Member of Etobicoke Diving Club...2010 Provincial Champion on tower...10th on platform at Canadian World Trials...qualified for finals every year at the Canadian Junior Nationals.
Personal: Daughter of Dan and Jennifer Whelan...made Honor Roll all four years of high school...received the Gradell English Award...compiled 40 hours of community service through volunteering at a retirement home and helping out at diving competitions...attending Maryland because of its perfect combination of school and sport...also recruited by Kentucky...majoring in Physical Science.
