As a Junior at Nebraska (1999-00): Battled a nagging back injury but still had a stellar performance at the NCAA Championships, claiming her eighth and ninth All-America honors ... finished 11th in the 400-free (4:09.88) and 13th in the 200-free (2:02.02) ... had an outstanding Big 12 Championship meet with conference titles in the 500-free (4:47.35) and the 200-back (1:59.15) ... also placed third in the 200-free (1:47.50) ... posted three wins at the Minnesota quadrangular ... won five titles at the Husker Shoot Out and adidas Sprint Classic ... grabbed two more victories against SMU and Iowa State and three vs. Missouri.
As a Sophomore at Nebraska (1998-99): Was hampered the second half of the season with a stress fracture in her lower back but still managed to retain her three Big 12 individual titles and earn All-America honors ... at the NCAA meet, Johnson finished seventh in the 200-back (1:58.00), and 14th in the 200-free (1:48.36) to earn individual All-America honors ... she also earned All-American recognition swimming on NU’s sixth-place 800-yard free relay, ninth-place 400-free relay and 13th-place 200-medley relay ... was named the Big 12’s outstanding performer for the second consecutive season after repeating with conference wins in three events, including the 200-free (1:48.08), 500-free (4:50.31) and the 200-back (1:58.70) ... also part of Nebraska’s winning 800-free relay and runner-up 400-medley relay ... was NU’s top swimmer throughout the season, posting 16 wins in dual or invitational competition.
As a Freshman at Nebraska (1997-98): Earned first-team All-America honors as the anchor leg on the second-place 800-free relay (7:10.89) at the NCAA Championships ... she competed in five other events at the national championships: 400-medley relay (18th, 3:45.70), 200-back (23rd, 2:00.65), 200-free (27th, 1:49.13), 500-free (4:52.40) ... was named the Big 12’s Co-Outstanding Performer and Newcomer of the Year following her five-for-five gold medal performance at the conference championships ... she won Big 12 titles in the 200-free (1:46.53, school record), 500-free (4:43.48, school record), 200-back (1:58.35), 800-free relay (7:12.70) and the 400-medley relay (3:43.77).
