As a Sophomore (2011-12): Competed at the 2012 ACC Championships, touching the wall fourth in the 100 breast (1:01.74)... also took 11th in the 200 breast (2:15.81)...Maryland's top performer in the 100 breast (1:01.74)...also top five in the 200 breast (2:15.81) and 200 IM (2:04.97)...ACC All-Academic...finished third in the 100 breast (1:03.38) and 200 breast (2:17.31) at the Terrapin Cup. As a Freshman (2010-11): Recorded season personal best times in the 100 breast (1:03.65), 200 breast (2:19.23) and 200 IM (2:06.62) at the Terrapin Invite. Before Maryland: Swam for Eagle Swim Team coached by Scott Ward...two time All-Maryland Team member...Eagle Swim Team record holder...two time USA Swimming Academic All-American.
Personal: Daughter of Michael and Carol Halligan...father attended Maryland...twin sister, Caelin, also attends Maryland...2009 Maryland Distinguished Scholar Honorable Mention...three year staff member of high school newspaper...chose Maryland because of the beautiful athletic facilities and natatorium, the team, the coaches, and the fantastic Journalism school...also recruited Navy, Florida State, UNC Wilmington, and Western Kentucky...majoring in Journalism. |
