Maryland swimmers and divers have also appeared at a host of national and international meets outside of the collegiate ranks. Most recently, Annie Fittin and Alexa Hamilton qualified for the 2012 London Olympic Trials in the 50/100 free and 100/200 breast, respectively.

In 2008, the Terps had six athletes competing for a spot on the U.S. Olympic squad at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Trials. Eric Cullen, Sean Stewart, Dong Kim, Jen Vogel, Patty DeScenza and Nina Rossi all competed at the national event.
Numerous Terps have also represented the University of Maryland well at the 2010 World Trials and at the USA Nationals.
The Maryland swimming and diving program is also home to national champions. Aleksandar Damjanic was crowned the Croatian National Champion in the 200 fly in 2009.
