Up Close and Personal: Softball's Annmarie Browne
May 2, 2001 COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Welcome to Up Close and Personal, a feature on umterps.com that lets you get inside the minds and lives of Maryland student-athletes. Senior Annmarie Browne has been a four-year contributor in the Terps' outfield. One of Maryland's all-time great defensive players, Browne's spectacular outfield play has turned in numerous game-saving catches and a .980 fielding percentage. Truly a team player, her 32-plus sacrifice hits this season alone not only make her the all-time leader in Maryland history, but are more than any other player has contributed in an entire career. The Lansdale, Pa., native took a time-out to discuss her favorite softball story, her greatest athletic accomplishment and her heroes.
