On Maslo: Maryland's returning starting defensive left fielder … has earned two varsity letters and played in 80 career games … her great range and speed earned her the Terps' starting job in left field during the second half of her sophomore season.
As a Sophomore: Played in a career-high 49 games while earning 39 starts … recorded 18 at-bats with one hit and four runs scored … lone hit came against Penn State on March 14 in the championship round of the Lady Seminole Invitational … started all five games in Maryland's NCAA Tournament run … flawless in the field as she handled 12 chances without an error as the Terps advanced to within one game of playing in the NCAA Softball World Series … season-high three at-bats against Florida International (Feb. 5), South Florida (Feb. 5), Penn State (March 14) and Campbell (March 26) … lone RBI of the season came against Penn State … scored single runs in back-to-back games against Florida State (March 13) and Campbell in the Buzz Classic … her run scored against Florida State allowed the Terps to earn a 5-3 victory and a doubleheader sweep against the Lady Seminoles … strong all-around game against Florida State with one hit in two at-bats, one sacrifice and two putouts as Maryland's starting left fielder … that victory went a long way in helping the Terps earn their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth … played in all eight of Maryland's regular season ACC games … was perfect defensively in the outfield on 16 total chances in ACC regular season play … started two of Maryland's three games in the ACC Tournament and was flawless defensively … closed the season with 19 consecutive games and 32 total chances without an error … only one error on 77 total chances for a .987 fielding percentage.
As a Freshman: Appeared in 31 games and made 27 starts … recorded three hits, credited with four RBI and scored three runs … 21 at-bats … one of a number of freshmen on the Terps' 1998 roster to see significant playing time.
Before Maryland: A graduate of Bishop Ahr High School in 1997 … first-team all-state selection by the Newark Star-Ledger and the Associated Press as a senior … a two-time all-division, all-conference and all-area first team selection … an all-state second team selection as a junior in 1996 … the 1996 Courier News Player of the Year.
Personal: Born Sept. 21, 1979 … Brooke is the daughter of Delores and Robert Maslo … was a member of the National Honor Society, student council and honors program at Bishop Ahr … majoring in engineering.
