Maryland softball not only earned its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in over 10 years, but the NCAA Tournament came to College Park for the first time in school history. 14th-seeded Oklahoma, Big East champion Syracuse and Atlantic 10 champion Fordham all came to College Park for the first weekend of competition in the big dance. Robert E. Taylor Stadium saw sell-out crowds in one of the best atmospheres in the country.
