Kelly Shipman Named Player of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland sophomore Kelly Shipman is named SAA Player of the Week after Maryland captured a share of the Atlantic Coast Conference title last week. Shipman, the co-MVP of the tournament, batted .400, with three runs and three RBI. She also recorded one double and one home run. The home run, her first of the season, came in the first championship game, giving the Terps a 2-1 victory over Florida State (Maryland and FSU were declared co-champions due to weather delays cancelling the second championship game).

Shipman, a pitcher/shortstop from Huntingtown, Md. also pitched all four games in the ACC Tournament, striking out 19 batters in 27 innings pitched.
