Rain Forces Cancellation of North-South Classic

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Inclement weather, specifically a persistentrain, has force the cancellation of the 1997 North-South Classic,hosted by the University of Virginia. The tournament, which was tofeature Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Morgan State, Rider, Temple, andthe University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, was canceled for the thirdstraight season. Last year's games were not played due to snow.
