Terps Women's Soccer Closes Out 2008 Season With

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland Terrapin women's soccer concludes its 2008 regular season with "Senior Night" against Clemson. The Terps and the Tigers are set for a 7 p.m. start at Ludwig Field. Scouting the Tigers Offensively, Clemson is led by senior Julie Bolt, who has nine goals and one assist for 19 points. Defensively, the Tigers have allowed 36 goals in 15 games, an average of 2.4 goals per game. Sophomore keeper Paula Pritzen has started all 15 matches and has a 2.45 GAA with 75 saves.
Could It Be Another One Goal Game? Maryland and Clemson have a history of playing tight games including last season's 1-0 double-overtime win for the Tigers in Clemson, S.C. Overall, Maryland leads the series 9-8-1, but Clemson holds a slim 21-17 scoring advantage in the 18 games. Eleven of the last 14 games in the series have been one-goal affairs. The Terps played eight overtime matches last season tying the program record for overtime games in a season. Maryland was 1-4-3 in OT a year ago. The 2004 team also played in eight overtime contests, going 2-2-4. At Ludwig Field Through the seasons, the Terps have had a knack for shutting teams out at Ludwig Field. Maryland has won 62 of its 89 victories (69.7%) at Ludwig Field via shutout. Add in the nine 0-0 ties the Terps have had at Ludwig Field and it totals 71 times that Maryland has shutout its opponent in 148 games (48.0%).
