Hastings Heads To Europe With U.S. U-18 Women's National Team

June 25, 2008

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland women's soccer freshman Lydia Hastings continues to add to her impressive resume. The forward/midfielder from Rehoboth Beach, Del., was recently named to the U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team Foreign Training Camp.

Hastings and the U.S. U-18 team will head to Europe on June 27 for a nine-day training trip that will feature matches against the Denmark and England U-19 teams.

The U.S. team will travel to Denmark and will take on the Danish team twice - first on June 30 and again on July 2. The squad will then depart for France, where it will play England on July 4.

Hastings previously participated in the U.S. U-18 National Training Camp in February and was impressive, leading the team in scoring with three goals and an assist in two games as a forward.

Hastings was also invited to the national training camp in May, but declined the offer in order to concentrate on her final exams at the University of Maryland, where she enrolled early for the Spring 2008 semester.
