June 19, 2009
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Incoming University of Maryland freshman soccer player Danielle Hubka was one of 15 players selected to the EA SPORTS Girls Soccer All-America Team, the organization announced this week. Hubka, the Ohio Division I Player of the Year and the Cleveland Plain Dealer Player of the Year, netted 26 goals to go along with 20 assists in her senior campaign at Strongsville (Ohio) High School. She is an U-18 National Team pool player who signed with the Terrapins and head coach Brian Pensky earlier this year. "Danielle is going to be a terrific asset to our program," Pensky said. "She just keeps getting better and better." Hubka also was named a 2009 U-20 National Team pool player. She will suit up for the Terps this fall. The EA SPORTS All-America Girls Soccer team was selected by the ESPNRISE.com staff. Athletes must have represented their high school teams and made the ESPNRISE.com seasonal All-America teams in order to be considered. EA SPORTS All-America Girls Soccer Team
