Feb. 14, 2013
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Matches with a pair of National Women's Soccer League teams and the annual alumni game highlight the 2013 spring Maryland women's soccer schedule, Maryland women's soccer coach Jonathan Morgan announced today.
"We are excited about the spring season, especially the opportunity to welcome back some of our alums as members of NWSL clubs," said Morgan. "We've put together a schedule that will allow our players to be tested and evaluated from beginning to end."
The spring season kicks off with three home matches, beginning on Saturday, March 16 with the NWSL's SkyBlue FC, with 2012 Maryland graduate Becky Kaplan, at 1 p.m.
Maryland then faces future Big Ten opponent Rutgers on March 29 at 7 p.m. The NWSL's Washington Spirit, which has invited 2012 Maryland grads Domenica Hodak, Danielle Hubka and Olivia Wagner to its preseason camp, will come into Ludwig Field on April 3 at 7 p.m.
The Terps will once again play at the Headers For Hope Spring Showcase at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, Md., on Saturday, April 13.
According to its website, "Headers For Hope was established in honor of every individual who has been diagnosed with cancer; every family member who has held the hand of their loved one being treated for cancer; and all friends acting as a support system to someone who has been told the news they have cancer. Unfortunately, cancer more often than not hits home, which means this foundation was established for you."

The Terps play at Big 12 regular season champion West Virginia on April 20 at 1 p.m. Maryland then wraps up its spring slate with the annual Terrapin Alumni game on April 27 at 4:30 p.m.
