Kaplan Drafted In Fourth Round By Sky Blue FC

COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Becky Kaplan, a senior on the 2012 University of Maryland women's soccer team, was drafted in the fourth round by Sky Blue FC in the 2013 National Women's Soccer League draft Friday in Indianapolis.
Kaplan, a native of Oyster Bay, N.Y., enjoyed a breakout 2012 season, posting career highs in goals (12), assists (6), points (30) and shots (53). She had a knack for scoring in key spots and had a team-best six game-winning goals this season. For her efforts she was a second team All-ACC selection and a third team NSCAA All-Southeast Regional honoree.
Kaplan finished her Terrapin career ranked 11th all-time with 52 points. She also is tied for 10th in career goals with 20 and is tied for 17th in career assists with 12.
The NWSL is set to begin its inaugural season this spring with eight teams.
