Maryland Upsets No. 9 Clemson 2-0
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Keri Sarver scored one goal and assisted on the other in leading Maryland to a 2-0 win over Clemson in an Atlantic Coast Conference women's soccer match at College Park, MD Sunday afternoon. It was Maryland's fourth victory over a ranked opponent this season.
Maryland improves to 7-4-2 overall and 3-1 in the ACC. Clemson falls to 9-3-0 this season, 2-2-0 in league play. Clemson is ranked ninth by Soccer America and 12th by the NSCAA poll. While Maryland is ranked 19th by both the Soccer America and NSCAA polls.
The Terrapins' Emmy Harbo scored her sixth goal of the season at the 57:15 mark. She was assisted by junior forward Keri Sarver and junior defender Laura Varela.
Freshman goalkeeper Alli Wolff recorded her fourth shutout of the season with four saves on the day.
Sarver added the insurance goal at the 87:03 mark with an unassisted goal.
The Terps will travel down "Tobacco Road" next weekend for a Friday night game against No. 6 Duke and a Sunday afternoon game against N.C. State.
