Track and Field Sweeps Maryland Invitational Both men and women place first. COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Both men's and women's teams outran the competition in their first home meet of the season, sweeping first place in the Maryland Invitational Track Meet. The women had an easy day, taking first place with 224 points to Morgan State's 98. Rounding out the competition were Millersville (80.5), Coppin State (77), and Saint Francis (76.5). Leading the way for the Terps were junior Dessalyn Jolley (Trenton, N.J.), winning the 100m hurdles (15.35) and 400m hurdles (1:06.37); junior Nikki Webster (Richmond, Va.) taking first in the long jump (17-2 Ohm) and triple jump (37-1 ae); and senior Heather Atkinson (Urbana, Ill.) who won the shot put (39-6) and hammer (152.3 Ohm) and took second in the javelin (109-4 Ohm).
Other winners included: On the men's side, Maryland won with 151 points to Millersville's 143. They were followed by Coppin State (97), Saint Francis (83), Morgan State (56), and American (1).
The men also brought home several wins: Maryland will host its final home meet of the season on Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m.
