Women's Lacrosse Beats Brown, 15-6

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland senior Cathy Nelson scored four goals and Sascha Newmarch added a hat trick, as the second-ranked Maryland Terrapins downed Brown, 15-6, in women's lacrosse action at Brown's Stevenson Field.

Nelson scored twice and had one assist in the opening 9:33 of the game, at which point the Terps had five goals on seven shots. Maryland then extended leads to 6-1, and 8-2 before settling for an 11-3 halftime advantage.

The Bears held Maryland to just four goals in the second half, but could muster only three of their own.

Shots were even at 30 apiece, but Maryland's Alex Kahoe was impressive in goal, recording 15 saves.

Maryland now improves to 9-2 overall, and are riding a nine-game win streak. The Terps host Georgetown on Wednesday, April 15 at 7 p.m.
