March 28, 1998

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The fourth-ranked Maryland Terrapins exploded for 13 first-half goals and cruised to an 18-1 victory over No. 12 Old Dominion in women's lacrosse action this afternoon at Ludwig Field. Sascha Newmarch tied a career-high with four goals while Cathy Nelson and Allison Comito each added three goals to lead the explosive Terp attack. Comito's three goals this afternoon marked a career high for the freshman.

Newmarch tied her career-best with four goals and added three assists. Her seven points this afternoon raised her season-high to 28, and her four goals moved her into ninth place in the Maryland career record books. She now has 114 career goals.
