A two-time All-American and one of three captains this year for the Terrapins, Kristin Sommar is an exceptionally talented midfield presence for the Terps. A preseason first-team All-American by College Lacrosse USA, Inside Lacrosse, and LaxPower, Sommar is a member of the U.S. Elite squad and has 67 goals and 47 assists for her career. Last season, Sommar received first-team Brine/IWLCA All-American status as well as All-ACC recognition. For her 13 goals during the NCAA Tournament, Sommar was also selected as a member of the NCAA all-tournament team, as well as the ACC all-tournament team.
As a junior in 1999: Sommar was chosen as a Brine/IWLCA first-team All-American for the second consecutive year, and scored 44 goals for the Terps during their 21-0 championship run
played in 20 of 21 games, and scored three or more goals nine times throughout the season
her career-high five goals came against Towson (4/7), with her career-high four assists at Harvard (4/11)
