Brian Reese joins the Maryland women's lacrosse staff as a volunteer assistant in 2009 and boasts ten years of experience in professional men's lacrosse.
Reese was a defenseman for the Terps from 1995-1998, garnering All-American honors as a senior. Upon graduation, he headed to the National Lacrosse League, where he played from 1999-2005. He served double-duty from 2001-2005, playing in both the NLL and Major League Lacrosse, boasting MLL All-Star honors four times.
Following his playing career, Reese remained a staple in the MLL, becoming general manager of the Denver Outlaws in 2005. Two years later, he etched a contract to become the squad's GM and head coach. Under Reese's tutelage, the Outlaws qualified for the playoffs in each of his three seasons and captured the Western Conference Championship in 2006 and 2008.
Reese is married to current Maryland head coach Cathy Reese and the couple has three children; Riley, Brody and Cayden.
