A 1999 All-American defender, Tonia Porras is a two-year starter for the Terps. "She's just a great, solid one-on-one defender," says Timchal. A strong player, she jumpstarts the attack with her strong transition game and blazing speed. She has been named a preseason College Lacrosse USA and LaxPower All-American.
As a junior in 1999: A starter and first-team Brine/IWLCA All-American, Porras also added a goal and six assists
scored in the Syracuse game (3/13)
her career-high two assists came against Georgetown (5/8) in the NCAA quarterfinals

As a sophomore in 1998: Named to the ACC all-tournament team
