Alex Kahoe begins her second season as volunteer assistant coach for the Maryland lacrosse program. Like Cathy Nelson, she is a former Maryland standout who brings a wealth of big-game experience to the table. Her primary responsibility in 2002 will be in working with the Terrapin goalkeepers.
Kahoe, a 2000 graduate of UMCP, was a team captain for three national championship teams at Maryland (1998-2000) as well as a three-time All-American at goalie. In 1999 and 2000, she was named the NCAA Goalkeeper of the Year, a designation that she also earned in the ACC as a freshman in 1997.
A member of the U.S. national team since 1997, Kahoe has been involved in sport both on and off of the field. While in school, she was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, an organization she served as president in the 1999-2000 academic year. In that year, she also served as a committee member for NCAA Re-Certification at Maryland.
