Terps Headed to Fayetteville Regional

LIKE! Maryland Athletics on Facebook COLLEGE PARK, Md. - For the fourth consecutive season and 18th-time overall, the Maryland gymnastics team will be participating in NCAA regional competition. The Terps were placed in the Fayetteville Regional the NCAA announced Monday. Maryland will join host Arkansas, Boise State, Missouri, New Hampshire and UCLA in the regional which will be held Saturday, April 7 at 7 p.m. ET. "We're excited to head to Fayetteville," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "The team was excited when we saw our selection location. "We are looking forward to seeing how we stack up against the nation's best." Six teams, five all-around competitors (who are not on a qualifying team) and one individual event specialist per event (who has a minimum Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 9.4) were named to each of the six predetermined host sites. The Terps completed their regular season with a record-breaking performance at the EAGL Championships in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Saturday. Maryland tied the 10th-highest score in program history (195.950), posted the highest all-time score on vault (49.225) and tied the fourth highest all-time score on floor (49.450) en route to a third place finish. Junior Ally Krikorian won the gold on floor, while senior Kyra Phillips, sophomore Katy Dodds and Krikorian finished in a five-way tie for first on vault.
