Maryland Faces Local Rivals, George Washington and Towson

The Maryland gymnastics team will face two local rivals, George Washington and Towson, on Friday in a tri-meet at the Towson Center Arena at 7:00 p.m.

Maryland is coming off a win last weekend when it beat fellow East Atlantic Gymnastics League member North Carolina for in the first of three meetings this season, 194.025-193.750.

Leading the Terrapins this week will be freshman Brandi George (Orlando, Fla.). George has competed nine times in the all-around this season, winning five of the times. She is currently ranked second in the all-around in the EAGL; her 38.925 RQS is .160 behind West Virginia's Janae Cox.

The No. 35 Terps defeated both the Colonials and Tigers earlier in the season. In its season-opener on January 12, Maryland topped No. 40 Towson, 191.750- 189.325. On February 8, Maryland beat No. 51 George Washington, 194.500-191.500.

Maryland's series record with Towson is 28-43 and their series record with George Washington is 40-30.
